Terms of Service

Last updated: 20 June 2026

1. Agreement

These Terms govern your use of Qdos, operated by Qdos ("Qdos", "we", "us"), available at qdos.app. By creating an account or using Qdos, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use Qdos.

2. Who may use Qdos

  • You must be an adult (at least 18, or the age of majority where you live) to create a household and accept these Terms.
  • As the adult/admin, you are responsible for the household you create, for the accounts you create within it (including children's accounts), and for ensuring you have the authority and any consents needed to add those members.
  • Children use Qdos only through accounts created and managed by an adult in their household.

3. What Qdos is

Qdos is a tool for families to organise chores and rewards, household rules, a shared calendar, and a shared shopping list. It keeps a ledger — a running record of amounts a household decides members have earned, lost, or been paid — as a bookkeeping convenience.

4. Qdos does not move money

This is important. Qdos is not a bank, payment processor, money transmitter, e-money issuer, or financial service of any kind, and Qdos does not hold, transfer, or process real money.

  • The amounts shown in Qdos are figures your household records for its own purposes. They are not funds held by Qdos.
  • "Settling up" in Qdos only marks the household's ledger as paid. Any actual payment between family members happens entirely outside Qdos (e.g. cash or a bank transfer the adult chooses to make), at the household's own discretion.
  • Qdos has no obligation in respect of, and no liability for, any real-world payment (or non-payment) between household members.

5. Subscription and billing

Qdos offers an optional paid subscription that covers your whole household — every parent and child on one plan, not per child. The subscription is owned by the household's admin.

  • Free trial. New households start with a 14-day free trial. No payment details are required to start the trial.
  • Plans and price. After the trial, continued use of the paid features requires a subscription: A$4.99 per month or A$29.99 per year. Prices may vary by region and store, and are shown to you before you confirm.
  • How you pay. On the web, billing is handled by our payment processor (Stripe). In the iOS app, payment is charged to your Apple ID account; in the Android app, to your Google Play account, at confirmation of purchase.
  • Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
  • Managing and cancelling. Manage or cancel anytime — on iOS via your Apple ID subscription settings, on Android via Google Play > Subscriptions, and on the web via the billing portal in Settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you start a paid subscription.
  • If a subscription ends. If a trial or subscription ends without renewing, your household becomes read-only — your data and history stay available, but new actions (creating or completing tasks, reporting rule breaks, settling up) pause until you subscribe. We do not delete your data because a subscription lapsed.
  • Refunds. Except where required by law (including the Australian Consumer Law) or by the applicable app store's policies, payments are non-refundable. App-store purchases are subject to that store's refund process.
  • Price changes. We may change subscription prices; we'll give reasonable notice, and any change applies only from your next renewal.
  • This subscription is the only payment Qdos takes. It is separate from the family amounts tracked in your household ledger (see Section 4) — Qdos never moves money between family members.

6. Your account

  • Keep your password and account secure; you're responsible for activity under your account.
  • Provide accurate information and keep it current.
  • Tell us promptly at support@qdos.app if you suspect unauthorised use.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to: use Qdos unlawfully or to harm others; attempt to access other households' data or breach our security; disrupt or overload the service; reverse-engineer or misuse the service except as permitted by law; or use Qdos to store or transmit unlawful, abusive, or infringing content.

8. Your content

You keep ownership of the content you put into Qdos (task names, notes, etc.). You grant us a limited licence to store and process it solely to provide the service. You're responsible for the content you add and for the accounts you manage.

9. Availability and changes

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We try to keep Qdos available and reliable but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may update these Terms; material changes will be notified by reasonable means, and continued use after changes means you accept them.

10. Termination

You may stop using Qdos and delete your account or household at any time from within the app. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or to protect Qdos or its users. Deletion is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.

11. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Qdos is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied (including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement). Some jurisdictions (including under the Australian Consumer Law) provide consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded; nothing in these Terms excludes rights you have that cannot lawfully be excluded.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Qdos and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for any real-world payments or disputes between household members. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and the courts of that jurisdiction will have non-exclusive jurisdiction, without limiting any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.
